There are different shelter options that are offered within Stanislaus County. Please ensure you contact the organizations for clarification on important details such as what time you are able to come into the shelter, the programs that they offer if you need a longer term stay, and other resources

Center for Human Services: Youth Navigation Center

 Hutton House Emergency Shelter 

24/7 temporary shelter for teens ages 13-17 and their families. They offer overnight and drop-in services for youth who ran away from home, are experiencing homelessness, or in a crisis.

Low Barrier Shelter 

24 bed facility that provides emergency shelter to young adults 18-24 who

Central Valley Opportunity Center (CVOC)

 WIO 167 Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker Program 

This program supports farmworkers and their dependents in obtaining permanent, higher-paying employment opportunities, etc. Participants may also receive emergency services such as food, rental assistance, utility support, and transportation. 

To be eligible: you must be a farmworker or a dependent of a farmworker.

Community Housing and Shelter Services

Community Housing and Shelter Services (CHSS) has been serving the residents of Stanislaus County for over 40 years. With more than 20 years of experience providing vital services such as rental assistance, homeless prevention, rapid re-housing, and shelter services for individuals experiencing homelessness in our community. CHSS provides

Community Housing and Shelter Services (CHSS) has been serving the residents of Stanislaus County for over 40 years. With more than 20 years of experience providing vital services such as rental assistance, homeless prevention, rapid re-housing, and shelter services for individuals experiencing homelessness in our community. CHSS provides temporary and permanent housing services to families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. Majority of the programs are by referral only with the exception of homeless prevention rapid rehousing services- which you can receive financial resources for: 


Applicant received a 3-day notice to pay rent or quit/delinquent notice OR Applicants require assistance with first month’s rent and/or deposit; AND Applicant experienced a reduction in households’ income, incurred a significant cost or experienced other financial hardship. 


Upon receipt of assistance,  the applicant must demonstrate on-going housing stability. Other guidelines may apply. For an eligibility screening, please call their rental assistance line at (209)527-0415. .

Community Impact Central Valley

 Provides affordable housing units, permanent supportive housing, and neighborhood stabilization services. To participate in a program, individuals must complete an eligibility questionnaire and speak to a case manager. If eligible, you will receive a callback to schedule an appointment. If you have any questions pertaining to the program

Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS

Provides housing opportunities for individuals with AIDS, including assistance with deposits, rent, mortgages, and utilities. Additional support includes bus passes or gas cards for medical appointments, food, hygiene items, and other supportive services. 


CICV Non-Program Criteria

Offers a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom unit available to individuals with a credit score of 650 or higher. Rent and deposit are each $1,700.

HAVEN

 The emergency shelter program supports survivors seeking safety and healing from domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. The shelter is staffed by advocates 24 hours a day, and survivors can access a range of available services. These services include food, clothing, case management, counseling, and more. Men and Women's Restoration Program

For those who are recovering from addiction, domestic violence, childhood abuse, co-dependency, overeating, etc. where they are provided housing, meals, case management, counseling, education, job training, etc. To apply email: robert@turlockgospelmission.org
